JFK Connection time

I have a Z class ticket booked for New Year FLL-JFK then JFK-LHR. Virgin have sent through numerous changes and the latest only gives me 1hr 20 mins to make the connecting flight. Does anyone know if this is enough time?
Apparently my Delta FLL-JFK lands Terminal 2 and my Virgin connection JFK-LHR is terminal 4.
Virgin are saying minimum connection time is 1hr 15mins and so wont change any of my flights. Any Advice?
Thanks

Perfectly doable, Delta operates an airside bus connection (the ‘JFK Jitney’) between T2 & T4 so there’s no need to go landside, get the AirTrain and reclear security (assuming both flights are on the same PNR and your luggage is checked through to London).
When you get off your FLL flight, go straight to gate C60 where the Jitney leaves from in T2 and get off at gate B18 in T4, then walk round to the A gates where VS usually depart from.

We have the same problem in December VS LHR to JFK then Delta JFK to MCO then in reverse for the return, today they they have just shortened the connection times to 1 hr 30 min for both legs
I have read the way to go is to use the Jitney Shuttle
https://www.delta.com/content/www/en_US ... k-jfk.htmlShuttle route shown here
https://bit.ly/2LEamT0Can we clear immigration at JFK then get the shuttle to get the Delta flight to MCO

No, unfortunately the Jitney option is only available if you’re connecting TO a UK flight, not FROM one.
When travelling from the UK you have to clear immigration, collect your bags, clear customs and drop off your bags again at JFK T4 before going landside. You’ll then have to catch the AirTrain one stop to T2 and reclear security there.

Thanks ... let hope the Global Entry approval comes through soon

@markyl actually, reading other forums, it may indeed be possible to clear security at T4 and use the Jitney to get to T2 rather than the landside Airtrain.
Whatever happens, though, you’ll need to go landside at T4 having cleared customs & immigration. For international arrivals, the concept of airside flight connections that we’re used to at LHR doesn’t exist at JFK. I don’t know how often the Jitney runs but it may be quicker to get the AirTrain and clear security at T2.
Also - DL flights can and do change terminals at the drop of a hat, so double check on the day in case your domestic flight is now departing from T4 instead. @bluebear - same advice applies.

Thank you for your help and advice.
I am hoping that there will another flight time change before the New Year that may give me a longer lay over.
I live in hope!

It's counter-intuitive but what you need is a schedule change that breaches the MCT so you can get yourself rebooked onto a later flight to FLL or an earlier one from LHR to JFK.
