We've now been told our VS137 on 26th September WILL be an A350 - the seat map appeared last night
Does anyone know if you can still 'buddy dine' on the A350 (ie eat with a companion sitting on their ottoman)

Virgin say yes, you can still buddy dine - what do others think / believe?

Looking at the photos I think it will be quite impossible to have a dining buddy - the ottoman is now under the seat in front of you, so someone sitting on that will find themselves a little contorted!!

My only other suggestion - the Loft/social space area that is replacing the bar has seat belts - so you can sit together there if you wish, though I have a feeling it will involve having the plates on your lap...

I would say no as well.

Whilst I’ve not seen the new seat I believe it works similar to the current Delta One seat which whilst there is an ottoman, it’s not for sitting on (the Delta One seats actually have a sign saying as much), it’s only there to extend the length of the bed when the seat is in bed mode.

You cannot physically sit on it anyway as it’s recessed into the seat in front of you.

Do you mean delivered or will be based at Gatwick?

If delivered, appears to still be in Toulouse?

My gosh that looks terrible. If they had a problem with the original flying lady, they should've dropped the nose art altogether.

Nice article

Funny typo - apparently virgin have a 'Treasure Team' not a Treasury team! I have visions of them searching seat back pockets for loose change and lost rings to melt down to pay for it all!

G-VLUX based at Glasgow this week, has done 18 flights in 3 days so far, a lot of touch and goes and tours of the Highlands for crew training. Should be there until Saturday.

Your going to hate me for this :-( I don't like the new icon. The first reaction I felt was, its a comic book cartoon character. It does not have the finess  of our beautiful flying ladies. Yes i know you all think change is good, but not for this. I hope the next icon will be a little better so i will wait and see. perhaps its just me i love our 747 and the flying ladies, so i might just need more time. :) Happy flying everyone.

I'm not a fan either and I agree with you Lucydog. This is just another case of political correctness gone mad IMHO.

Agreed. It's as if they've created a problem for themselves now, the flying ladies weren't even controversial.

Agree that the icon looks awful. And from what I've seen, the others are even worse.

Agree as well. I feel like this is a classic case of solution looking for a problem, since nothing was wrong with the flying lady and the original logo was beautifully designed. Shame that they abandoned their iconic flying lady for what IMO was nothing more than a poorly executed marketing campaign.

Exactly. Why fix something that isn't broken.
