According to a thread on another site, VS #5 (MSN71) had its maiden test fight around 2 weeks ago.

Another frame (VS #7) has just rolled off the production line.

When do you think G-VBOB will be delivered and will she be in the leisure config.

Towards the end of next year and she will (along with the remaining A350 orders) be in leisure config.

There’s an interesting article on TPG about how G-VDOT was delivered from Airbus without any Upper Class seats which where then installed at LHR by VS, Safran & AIM engineers.

Have G-VLIB and G-VNVR been assigned MSN numbers yet?

They would have to rename an A339 to make way to use the reg unless they want to convert a fifth lease option with ALC to an order.

It is being used on an A350. Virgin have confirmed it on social media pages. Unless they are getting another A350, they will have to scrap one of the registrations.

It still doesn’t clear up which registration has been scrapped.

After reading through virgin’s blogs it looks like this is what order the A350s will be delivered:
G-VLIB MSN 492
G-VEVE MSN 507
G-VWHY MSN 513
G-VELJ MSN ???
G-VNVR MSN ??? Due in time for the summer 2022 season.

Based on the fact that virgin are saying LIB and EVE will be the next 2 delivered, it looks like G-VBOB will not be used (may be transferred to an A339).

All the articles I have read said that G-VLIB would enter service in April 2022 and I would imagine G-VEVE would be delivered around that time also?

That would make sense for MSN 492 as parts are built but not even put together.
I do think if they scrap one registration it should be G-VBOB as to me it seems the weakest one out of them all.

I was reading an article earlier about the planned configuration for the leisure fleet. It was saying that there were only plans to have 4 rows of upper class, then 7-8 rows of premium behind the loft all between doors one and two.
My first thought was, I didn’t think the A35K was that big.
Does anyone think all of that would fit, or would this just be more fiction circulating?

I can’t see any reason why that would not work as there are 11 rows in Upper Class in the LHR config. See the current LHR A350 seat map below:

Whilst this is only very roughly done…..if you measure the length of the Premium cabin front to back from the first row to the back row with 7 rows and put that in front of loft that still only takes you to approx row 6 of Upper Class so by the time a cabin divider is fitted that still easily leaves 4 rows for Upper Class which would be 16 seats and 56 Premium seats if there are in fact 7 rows.

The next A350 will be MSN 605 and will be delivered at some point next year. With there being no news on MSN 513 or 521, it is unclear what the registration of this one will be but it will likely either be G-VBOB, G-VWHY, G-VNVR or G-VELJ.
The aircraft will be in the leisure configuration.

I wonder what Upper Class seat VS will install on future A350s? Will they stick with the existing A350 J seat or install the newer A339 J seat?

If I was VS, I would stick with the current A350 seat for the remaining deliveries, especially if there's a a big difference in footprint between the two seats. The last thing they want to avoid until refurb time comes along is three different configs of A350.

I guess it will also depend on feedback they get from passengers and whether the A330neo Upper seat is more popular than the A350 Upper sear. I recall the UCDS didn't have a long shelf life in the end.

I think we can expect the 787s to receive the new neo product if they stay in the fleet and the A333s to stay as they are until they are phased out but how could the flagship A350 have the inferior product? To me it seems like VS have created a problem for themselves
