Paid Upgrade Price Changes

Hello, forum newbie here!

I'm flying LHR-JFK-LHR in January seated in PE but have noticed the 'pay to upgrade' prices for UC have dropped significantly since I booked a few months ago.

The outward journey had dropped from around £1300 to £800 and the return leg has dropped from £800 to under £600.

I'm tempted to spring for one or the other I've never flown UC and likely never will again. I can afford it so why not?

My question is do you think the prices will fall any further or rise again as seat availability etc changes? How does Virgin's seat prices usually change over time like this?

Thanks in advance!

The prices change depending on load, and available fare buckets. It all happens automatically.

Under £600 is a good deal - snap that up, it won't get much cheaper.

The on the day prices will likely be very similar if there are un-sold seats - but theres no gauruntee.

Saturday Evening my LGW-LAS paid upgrade dropped from £1100 for the outbound sector to £527.

Within 24 hours it had gone back to £1100.

£800 for a relatively short daytime flight is a little steep but £600 for an overnight is a bargain. That return is painfully short to get sleep on anyway so get the best you can.
If they are offering these great deals you might also find miles upgrades are available.
