Ok so 18months after I started collecting I have managed 215,000 virgin miles whoch I plan on booking 2 UC reward seats to JFK for our wedding anniversary next October.
I want to fly out of LHR to experience the Clubhouse, but return to MAN as we actually live in MAN.
Is this going to cost me more in Taxes or would it be the same as booking a normal return??
I have tried doing dummy multi-city bookings online but it never seems to find any reward availability so I can’t tell.

The taxes are the same for cash and reward bookings, so if you do a dummy booking for cash and then go to Fare Breakdown it will tell you the taxes.

You may well struggle getting 2 x Upper Class rewards coming back to MAN though if VS are still using a 744 on the JFK route with the 744's only having 14 seats in Upper Class.

Do also remember as well that the MAN>JFK route is seasonal and drops from being daily to just 3 times a week from the end of October. It's from 28th October this year so next year should similar.

If you price up an open jaw then the 'taxes' should be the same as a reward ticket.

But to be pedantic 'taxes' is made up of three elements

Proper government taxes such as UK APD and US Transport Taxes
Fees - such as 'passenger service charges' levied by airports and for the uS htings like customs and 9/11 security fee
Surcharges - which is 100% airline profit
