Good Morning From LGW N Terminal Clubrooms Lounge

Good morning everyone.

A quick hello from the Gatwick North No 1 Clubroom.

Just enjoying a relaxed breakfast prior to making the long, long walk to the gates for our 12.30 VS 27 to Orlando.

It will be my 59th V/A flight, and Mrs Southroma’s 57th – but then we are both closer to 80 than 18!!!

Hoping to complete out Global Entry interviews on arrival at MCO, but as we are not scheduled to get in until 1805, may be a problem. I will post how we get on in due course.

Very quiet at the check-in/bag drop. Very Helpful ‘James’ told us it had been really busy earlier on.

Through ‘security’ without too much hassle, which was also fairly quiet.

The walk through ‘Duty Free’ was packed!

Had several problems trying to check in on line yesterday, when a page requesting visa details kept popping up. We do not have visas, only ESTAs. Telephoned the flying club and Chris looked into it. Seems there had been a problem with the IT on the VA website - what a surprise – and said I should just check in at LGW. Gave it a few minutes and logged in again. This time all went well.

Kind regards,

John

Hope you both enjoy the flight & have a really nice trip.

I know the airport have to make a few pennies so they route everyone from security checks area through a large duty free section as the only route into the main departures area / gates but even with the wide aisles the duty free concessions are doing more of the 'supermarket' style end of aisle promotions that cause people to loiter on both sides of the walkway / aisle making it hard to get through sometimes even when it's fairly quiet …. luckily I haven't been confronted with it when it's really busy so far..... but maybe I'll get to join the scrum when heading to the VS43 in 12 days time :-/

Good morning John. I hope you enjoy the rest of your time in the lounge and have a great flight. Hopefully you can get your interview on arrival and it all goes smoothly.

Have a wonderful time in Orlando - we still have 20 days to go (and counting every minute).
