Virgin Silver or Delta Skymiles Medallion Number on Booking?

Folks,

Anyone have any experience on whether it's more beneficial to have a Delta Skymiles Medallion number vs Virgin Silver on a VS miles PE booking (I currently have these status in both programmes)?

I know I have automatic access to Clubhouse and Arrivals Lounges via Delta and don't have to have them on my booking (I just show my FF number to get access). However, I'm wondering whether there's more chance of any upgrades if I include my Delta number. If so, does this mean I wouldn't be able to Bid for Upgrade or use Miles Booster as the flight would be linked to my Delta FF account and not VS?

Note this is a miles redemption booking so will not accrue any miles anyway.

Thx.

Not sure of your Delta status but VS Silver doesn't get you much, at least your Delta status sounds more advantageous. If I read your question right - complimentary upgrades are practically non-existent on VS, though some are more lucky than others. That said, on an award booking there's no chance of an upgrade and you won't be given the option to bid for one.

TBH, I think you receive better perks as a Delta Medallion flyer on VS than as VS Gold on VS, but that's just my opinion. If you're a Delta person and that's what you fly most then I'd stick with Delta unless you're close to Gold and you know you won't make your Delta status this year.

Ok great, thanks for the response.

Interestingly, I'm being offered a "bid for upgrade" (min £500) to Upper to MIA and back from IAD despite me being on a miles ticket.

Will stick with the Delta FF number on the booking, just in case any upgrades come my way.

Is that each way or return?

Whoops, sorry if I gave you wrong info. Maybe I haven't made an award booking in so long I forgot but I thought that option was blocked out or it said N/A. I assume it was a standard award booking, not some other award via a credit card? Have you clicked on it to try and make an offer?

I'm interested to hear about the IAD lounge as I've been meaning to check it out. Newark is getting too boring. ;-)

Bid for upgrade is £500 per leg which is pretty reasonable. Bearing in mind I already have lounge access I'm not sure it's worth it for me.....am more than happy flying Westbound in PE. Coming home there's more of a benefit with the flat bed though although sleeping in PE is still possible. The fare class is P which is the economy to premium upgrade voucher.
I went through the bidding process and it takes me all the way through to payment.
The last time I used the lounge in Washington is was good - right across from the gate and perfect for preflight dining before the night flight.
