Trying to get business or first reward seats next October - flexible worn dates. Seen availability in first on expert flyer but virgin saying unconfirmed!? Anyone throw any light on this? I’ve called every day to no avail...

I didn't think Virgin flew to Tokyo, I knew there was a rumour. Also they don't have first and business only Upper which is a hybrid cabin.

Hi, I meant for partner reward flights from ANA using my miles.

I’ve managed to get quite a few upper reward flights over the years with virgin but never using partner airlines, so not sure how it works!

ah ok now I'm with you. Sorry. I think the available seats have to be in a special class for virign to be able to book them but don't know much more than that. Recently did Tokyo with BA and they ere the easiest redemption seats I've had to book, loads of availability.

But not during the Rugby World Cup next year ...

It’s often the case that reward availability is restricted for partner airlines, and what you see on the operating carrier’s website or ExpertFlyer is reserved for its own members. I don’t know if that’s the case with ANA, but it may explain why VS can’t book seats you can see on EF.

Thanks both. I didn’t know World Cup was on in Tokyo, am
Now off to check dates! We are quite flexible so I’m really hoping....if I keep checking EF I may get lucky....

The other option is to fly to Shanghai and then on to Tokyo but as we are already non London based it’s then turning into a bit too much trouble. Wish me luck!

The best way to see ANA reward availability is to use the United website. From there you can go to the Advanced search, then set your travel preferences. Make sure to set the United MileagePlus award ticket option to Yes. Try and be as flexible as you can, you're looking for the "Saver" reward options. :-) These are the ones that VS can book in to. If you find dates that you like, give Virgin a call with the dates and they should see them.

If you need further help with getting search results let me know!

Wow that’s incredibly helpful! Will have a look tonight. I’m hoping if I can wait until Nov when the workd cup is over (looks like 2nd) I might be able to spot a few. Thanks again, greatly appreciated.
