I'm flying VS46 JFK to LHR on Tuesday 5th February.

Flight out here was very quiet, about half seats in PE empty and 2 or 3 in UC empty also so wondering what the load is like on the way back to see if it'd be feasible to upgrade from PE to UC. (On that note, is it possible to upgrade from a PE reward fare to UC?)

Load check would be much appreciated if someone is able to take a look.

TBH, loads checks are no use when you are on reward fares as they don’t include reward availability.

You can only upgrade a reward fare using more miles and there will need to be reward availability in Upper as well.

(Having just checked, there is currently an Upper reward fare available on your VS46 fight)

Thanks both for the load check and the info. Is this true even when turning up at the airport on the day?

I recall reading in a different thread that at that point you may be able to upgrade a reward fare using cash but perhaps I was mistaken.

I've been offered a paid upgrade from a reward fare in PE to UC via the Virgin app on a number of occasions. Have also upgraded to UC using miles via Flying Club and at the airport.
