am I being daft....

Hi All,

Thought I'd come to the collective here to make sure I'm not being an idiot or unreasonable....

My company travel agent has booked me on a flight with Virgin Atlantic in Economy Delight - best bang for buck on miles and TP rewards as far as I can tell 150% miles + 50TPs per sector.

Having reviewed the booking the flight is 'Operated by Delta' but booked as a VS flight number.

When it comes to miles and TPs as I'm booked as a VS flyer but on Delta Metal are my Miles and TPs calculated as the 'Virgin' earning table or as the 'Delta' earning table... I ask because we paid specifically to get Economy Delight because of the miles and tp level but when I look on the Delta site it shows me booked as 'Delta Comfort+ (V)'

I know on Virgin 'V' class is Economy Delight but on Delta 'V' class is discounted main cabin which will only net me 50% miles flown and 25TP per sector so only 1/3 the miles and 50% TP that I was expecting....

Very confused here.... don't usually end up on codeshare flights so wondering which is correct...

You'll get the miles/TPs for Delta Comfort+

Go by the metal you're on :-) so in your case it'll be the DL earning table.

ah, that sucks then :-( surely if we booked 'Virgin Economy Delight' or Virgin 'V' then that should have translated through to Delta 'W' or Delta Comfort+ rather than Delta 'V' which is discounted economy Main Cabin....? especially as paid for the Economy Delight fare (was certainly an uplifted cost at booking from Economy Classic)

Sorry, maybe I wasn't being clear. You will get 50TPs / 150% miles based on being in Delta Comfort+. When I said use the DL earning table I meant for the Comfort+ earnings. The fare codes don't translate across as you've seen.

ah ok, so although it shows Delta Comfort+ (V) I'll earn at the proper delta comfort+ rate? as although Virgin Economy Delight is V on Delta Comfort+ is officially class (W) all far too confusing for me, and I fly quite a lot but never done VS v Delta codeshare before so a bit befuzzling to decipher

Yeah, it can definitely be a headscratcher, but everything has been quite well aligned in the last year or so, so purchasing the Delta equivalent of Economy Delight via the VS website will put you in Delta Comfort+, with the TPs/Miles that you would expect.

It's like, the products align, but the fare codes do not!

cool! well I guess we'll know for sure when the points get awarded, because so far I've had 2 differing opinons from VS staff themselves.... lol

I have done LHR-BOS-LHR on a mix of Economy Delight and Delta Comfort+, booked as a Delight fare through VS, and the miles & TPs were awarded as expected, so you'll be fine!

So, just to close this thread off, I took my trip and everything credited as I had hoped it would 150% miles, 60% tier bonus and 50TP perfect! :-D

sorry to reopen this thread but I had a query re comfort+ have a VS/DL share (LHR-JFK-TPA) all on delta codes booked through VS . on the VS site is shows the internal legs as comfort + (V) but on the DL site its main cabin (V) . I suspect DL is correct but should I try and push it with DL
