So got a trip next year planned and booked to NZ via Singapore. Booked with Expedia and some where along the way (most likely my fault) made a spelling mistake on a name, rang Singapore and they happy to change, also enquired about changing the time of a SIN to Auckland flight, they said it’s possible for a (very reasonable cost)

My question is this, is Air NZ J seat identical to VA UC? Got a choice between SQ old a380 J or Air newzealand 787.

It’s part of a long trip back to the UK so not worried about timings etc but really just after the best experience

Yes, the NZ B789 business class seat is essentially the same as the VS Upper class B789 seat though NZ have made their own subtle changes to it such as the suite and seat colour.

There are a couple of reviews on YouTube.

As mitchja has said above, the ANZ 787 J seat is basically Upper Class, but with some slight Kiwi changes.

The OP has a hard decision to make as to which airline to fly. ANZ have some of the best safety videos out (for sure), but Singapore don't win the string of "Best Airline" awards they do for no reason. If it was me, I think I'd be erring towards the SQ A380 J product. Either way, have a great trip!
