VS baggage allowance on connecting flights

Hi all,

I have a flight which I booked via Skyscanner for next month, LHR-JNB-VFA (Vic Falls). I have upgraded the outbound with Flying Club to PE using miles which is now showing on MMB.

The connecting flight is operated by Comair (BA fight code) which appears on MMB (no baggage details showing) and with the same ticket number but in Economy.

Will my baggage allowance still be 2x23kg for the entire journey even though the flight to VFA is still in Economy with a different airline?

I phoned Flying Club yesterday to ask and the agent I spoke to was unsure, and didn’t seem totally confident when she came back to me after checking. She told me it was fine but I just wanted to double check to avoid any issues transiting at JNB.

Many thanks in advance,

Matt

If you get the BA booking reference, you can then see how much luggage they think you can take via BA's MMB

I've flown Comair to DUR after landing in JNB and I haven't had a problem with luggage.

Thanks for your replies. After several phone calls with FC and BA it appears that the PE baggage allowance isn’t included on the Comair sector.

I’ve been told by FC this is because the ticket was purchased in Y and I have upgraded the VS sector only with miles and not the connecting Comair sector which is still ticketed in Y and showing a baggage allowance of 23kg on their system.

I was under the impression that that there was an agreement that the baggage allowance from the first longer sector would be carried through to connecting flights, but apparently not on this occasion!
