Some serious VS delays today out of MAN
VS181 to LAX and VS127 to JFK still not departed?
VS75 to MCO finally departed at 15:45 instead of the scheduled 09:55.
Looks like there's a VS positioning 744 flight from MAN>MBJ just departed as well?
Anyone know what's going on?

No idea, but it looks like today's 127 to JFK has been swapped to a 346 with estimated departure time of 8pm... Ouch.

It looks like last nights VS66 (MBJ-MAN) operated by G-VXLG returned to MBJ with some kind of problem. The G-VLIP positioning flight will be a rescue flight for these pax.
With them technically being 2 x 747’s down (XLG stranded in MBJ plus LIP on its way to the rescue I guess they’re pretty tight on aircraft today.
G-VNAP has just positioned up to MAN to operate the 127.

The MBJ has a bird strike last night and returned to MBJ

What happened to G-VROS as she arrived in MAN this morning on the VS110 from ATL?

Good question David. It doesn't seem to have shifted since arriving.
The disruption yesterday has rolled into today, the VS121 is delayed by 5 hours thanks to the late arrival of the VS182 from LAX. Going to be a lot of compensation paid out I think, shame.

Yeah, it looks like is was more than just a bird-strike with one 744 that caused all this.
Why was the A332 used for the LAX route yesterday badly delayed as well?
Would the MAN crews be able to op a LHR 346 as it’s not a normal A/C used for MAN ops?

Would an LHR crew have flown LHR to MAN, loaded and continued to JFK.
With a bit of switching, there may be a rested crew in JFK, who are 346 qualified???

This does perhaps demonstrate why if, as presumed, Virgin Atlantic are intending to expand the MAN operation significantly there is a need for a more modern and consistent fleet type (the bird strike of obviously unfortunate but there are clearly technical issues in there to cause such long delays).

The MAN crew can operate the 346 as they fly on the 333 and 332 and they are considered the same type. It’s just the 787 they can’t fly
