A quick hello from the LHR Clubhouse

Just a quick hello from the LHR Clubhouse. Arrived just as the shutters where going up first thing.

Just had an amazing back massage and service is good all round this morning.

On my way to stay with some friends who live on the coast of North Carolina. Flying on the VS103 to ATL then the DL5410 to EWN.

Was way cheaper flying from LHR compared to flying to ATL from MAN which I guess is down to the limited availability in Upper Class from MAN with them using a 744 :-(

Oh joy......G-VNAP (again). I’m convinced she stalks me :-O

Though on the plus side, I’m been treated like royalty by today’s crew, only been onboard 10minutes and I’ve already been welcomed personally by the CSS and the FSM :-D

I can only assume that is the case. MAN-ATL also looks scheduled to remain a 747 into the winter months - great for those who like to travel on a Jumbo TATL and want to do so before they go, but not so much for those who want to fly Upper. I'm always an advocate for flying local as much as possible, but without knowing what you paid I expect it was a no-brainer if it's significantly cheaper to fly from LHR even once additional travel costs etc. are factored in.

Safe travels and have a great time!

Gam Sleeping Beauty is a bit past her best! Hope you had a good flight over to ATL!

Currently sat in the DL Sky lounge in the International terminal as I wanted a shower with me having a 5.5hr layover.

A pretty good flight but yes G-VNAP is well and truly past her best. Around half the IFE screens where not working in J (including mine) so iPads where handed out. Same issue I had last time on G-VNAP in Premium. Bits of cabin hanging loose in one of the J washrooms as well >-(

Whilst the IFE would switch on and the menu system was usable, nothing would actually play including the safety video. The sky map was working though.

All this investment VS have been talking about recently and yet they won’t fix minor things like this >-(

Well Done on opening up the shop (Clubhouse) James :-D

Have to agree about maintaining the current fleet; it is that which retains customers, not the promise future products.

Hopefully you have now reached your final destination and DL have been their usual self ;-)

I don’t know why they retired GVBUG when she was in a better condition internally and had WiFi rather than GVNAP!

I agree it’s really poor and hope that they plan to get rid of NAP as soon as GVPOP is in service!
