V-Flyer

Just a quick post to share my happiness over some excellent fares. To renew Au next year I needed an extra UC trip. My dad has been wanting to visit California for years, and his 70th birthday next month prompted us both to agree to go sooner rather than later. There don't seem to be any direct flights during the winter from MAN, so I found some amazing prices from LHR to SFO in February. I paid for my UC ticket in full (about £1,560), and used miles plus money on my dad's booking to get it down to about £1,100 (it would have been cheaper, but I need the remaining miles for something important next month). The best part is I haven't told him he's flying business yet, so I'll surprise him at the airport

Thank you so much, hiljil! I can't wait to show him the Clubhouse, too. I have a terrible track record with those kind of things a surprise, so I'll do my best to not spoil it until he gets the ticket!

What a wonderful idea. If you find it impossible to preserve the secret, it will give time for him to enjoy the anticipation, which is something I enjoy.
