New Sleep Suits

Just boarded the VS41 in San Fran and have been handed the new sleep suit. Not sure I’ve seen this reported in here yet?

Now comes in a draw string bag. The bottoms are dark purple and the top is grey. The bottoms are definite more fitted than the old ones! They are now elasticated at the bottom

Thanks for the heads up.

From a personal standpoint the bottoms being more fitted does not bode well

Will be interseted to hear how the new sleepsuits perform

Buns, Mr DL is in the same boat :)
Hopefully they’ve not been enhanced back to the spark causing polycotton ( more poly than cotton) fabric of yesteryear :).

Oh I do hope not. Is it too much to hope they could be like the lovely moisturising sleep suits on Emirates?

We got them on our flight back from LAX to MAN yesterday. Sizes are S/M and M/L. The bottoms are quite tight (I'm about a UK 10 and they were fitted on me), but the top is very roomy. The material is much better than the old sleep suits, with the bottoms in particular being very soft :)

They also do a L/XL -I like them too. Did you also like the new duvets?

I loved the new duvets. A great update to the bedding in my view.

New upper class loungeware on all night flights now, new upper class bedding on all flights now, new upper class fitted sleep sheets on A332's now , new upper class silver stainless steel napkin rings on all flights (replacing the previous paper napkin band) now. "REN" sustainable sourced hand / body wash phasing-in across upper class now. There will will also will be A350 "hero" "almond gold" upper class elements launching soon. They really look amazing. So excited!!!

Seriously ugly purple & grey ... elasticized bottoms. ugh. I loved the original black ones with the little red virgin tag on the seam. Most importantly, the pants and sleeves were long enough. I wore my "Virgin Jammies" to breakfast with a nice scarf, for a quick walk around the hotel or through the airport and all kinds of places. They looked quite sophisticated. The next iteration's pants were too short. I do wish they'd bring back the black ones.

Ugly is exactly how I'd explain them. Tops don't fit and the arms are indeed short. I took a M/L and I found the top very uncomfortable and I'm not large. I really can't see the larger flyers getting on with them at all unless there is a L/XL available.

I had the opposite problem with a small in that the arms and legs were long... no issue with the rest of the fit either

There is a L/Xl size (I'm wearing one at home right now) and when I showed the trousers to a friend, they thought it was a much better idea rather than have a looose straight trouser hem dragging all over the floor (especially in aircraft toilets)

My wife normally uses the sleep suits but I have never worn one. I always bring mine home though with the intention of wearing for gardening or similar but that never happens so once there are a few in the pile they end up in the charity shop.

Having read the posts it seams they haven’t “nailed it” as well as they planned to please the masses.

Personally I think the elastic bottoms sounds great and welcome a change of colour. Will see how the sizes fair up for me (5.10 slim build) and the wife (5ft) and add in with my TR when we fly at the end of September.

Are they confirmed for all routes now or just ex Lon? ( read some where someone got the old black ones flying back from Bos, we are flying joberg return)

The old style ones where still been handed out of the VS122 BOS>MAN flight last week.

I never bother with them on any flight as I prefer to sleep on-board in my own shorts + t-shirt.

The old style sleep suits were still being handed out on the VS128 on Tuesday evening - by all accounts, MAN is helping to run-down the old stock!

Mr DL’s verdict- the trousers are fine ( much better actually) but the top is ridiculously short in the arms ( about 4 inches!) and a bit snug around the girth :-D ( L/XL). The Virgin Australia ones are still the best of the bunch in his opinion .
