Twilight check in

Hi, we are flying UC to Barbados next weekend and will be staying at Gatwick the night before

As we are travelling with our 8month old son, we are going to be loaded up with suitcases so I’m keen to drop them all off the night before to make the following morning as hassle free as possible (anything we need overnight can go in our hand luggage)

I have heard differing stories about whether UC twilight check in bags get the priority baggage labels or not? Don’t fancy waiting around for ages for bags when we land!

Thanks

By the time you get thru security in Barbados you bags will be on the conveyor very quick in Barbados

The bags get loaded into the baggage bins by the info stored within the barcode.

The baggage handlers do not look for priority labels, they scan the barcode which tells them to place the bag in economy, upper, premium or connection Bagggage containers.

Exactly - the priority labels are pure theatre.

BA being a case in point: they don’t even OFFER priority baggage handling (except on a handful of routes in F). Yet they still have priority tags which are there purely to make passengers think they’re getting a premium service and keep them happy.

The pertinent question here is - does baggage checked in during Twilight check-in get separated into Upper/Premium/Economy containers, or - given the relatively low use of the service - does it all end up in one Twilight container which is loaded on the aircraft separately? I suspect the latter.

You shouldn't have to wait long for your baggage to appear in Barbados, no matter if it has priority or not.

We are in Barbados at the moment, and arrived on Tuesday afternoon from LGW. We arrived after the BA flight so all our luggage was on the belt before we got through immigration.... Only took about 25 minutes and we were in PE.
