V-Flyer

We only fly with Singapore Airlines once a year, but somehow each time a new question arises I have to ask all of you; it's probably down to me being a bit of an anxious traveller.

We are flying in business to SIN this year for a wedding, then making an economy trip between SIN and KIX as we're then spending ten days in Japan. Obviously in business we get two bags each, which we might need as we have a suit for my OH and two outfit changes for me (the wedding is a day long affair!), but the economy leg is a totally separate ticket. Both my OH and I are VS AU and apparently are entitled to an extra bag on SQ regardless of class of travel. My "how long is a piece of string" question is this: do you think the staff at SIN will be aware of this perk? Is it just luck of the draw? An extra bag will cost us about $300 if not, so I'd like to avoid paying that, obviously! We will being our physical gold cards. If you've done this before, please let me know your what your experience was like.

As a side note, on the return trip from HND we are flying with ANA for the first time. We are very curious to try their business class Any thoughts on it welcomed!

Spacedog, put those worries to rest. I have done this all over the Malaysian peninsula without issue and I have done some fairly peculiar outstation routes over the years. All without incident.

SQ staff are always helpful and are among the best in the biz for customer service.

More as an FYI, their checked in allowance is geared more towards piece and weight as opposed to piece, but I am sure that you will be fine unless you are trying to sneak a large dehumidifier into your luggage (I know a V-Flyer that did that recently )

JOH and joeyc, thank you so much! That is incredibly helpful. I'm making sure our FC numbers are connected to the booking, as although currently we plan to only take one piece each (to make navigating the bullet trains a little easier), there is the possibility that we will need extra space. This just sets my mind at rest. Thank you again.

I'll definitely do an ANA TR, I haven't done one in ages so I feel I really ought to. We're looking forward to it, although I don't want to think about it just yet, as it will mark the end of our holiday Haha.
