Is it possible to order a bottle of cold champagne ( Not Duty Free ) and glasses delivered at at seat in economy for a friend who is flying to NYC from Manchester. She is celebrating a significant milestone and we want to surprise her?

Ah ok, in which case there’s this, according to the Virgin Holidays website:

“Something to celebrate? Virgin Atlantic's personalised celebration service allows you to pick a gift that's just right, whether it’s a bottle of champagne or chocolates. Just call Virgin Atlantic's pre-order team on 0344 579 0055 (at least 96 hours before departure).”

It's part of VS's retail therapy on-board duty free and can also be pre-ordered online here

As long as you know the flight number and date of travel, you can book it for someone else.

Has anyone tried this recently? When I try to order via Retail Therapy it's just taking my details and I don't see an option to nominate someone else. The phone number in the thread (and online elsewhere) seems to be defunct now. Many of my colleagues annoy me, but one of the secretaries is wildly underpaid for what she does and has been v good to me. Would like her to get a surprise onboard treat. Aargh.

Try calling 03449331074 they deal with the duty free on board now. Don't know if it's something they could help with.

So never got through to that number so thought I'd ask the Gold line. They can apparently do surprises for birthday, anniversary and honeymoon...but that's all. Data protection stuff they said - things changed a few months ago and made them more limited in what they can do. I wanted it as a thank you/enjoy your bucket list trip so it was a no go. Tried Retail Therapy and that only seemed to want to let me purchase under my own name as well. Sigh.
