The nearest and dearest is speaking at a vet conference in Chicago later this year (end of Oct/ early Nov).

She will be reimbursed for rtn economy flights, but trying to find best route from London. Is allowing the VA site to create connections and options with Delta on their website the best idea. Or should we break it down into segments / sectors individually ourselves?

BA /Aa offer direct flights with a checked bag for 301

Va/delta offer econ light (no bag) and connection for. 324

want to get the airmiles selfishly haha

Don’t book the flights separately as doing that means you loose any protection if one or more of your flights gets delayed. If you miss a flight due to a delay you are on your own and would need to book/pay for another onwards flight.

Book it all on one ticket. That means if either VS or DL get delayed they are obliged to get to to your destination.

There’s no difference what so ever in booking with either VS or DL. Earnings and benefits (if applicable) will be identical. The only difference will be the flight numbers.

Unless you’re gold I’d go for the direct option. You’ll earn less than 2,000 miles. You can buy 2,000 miles for 30 quid!
