Is a TP run around Europe now on the cards?

With the earning of miles and TP available from today ( if I understood the hfp article correctly) it got me thinking, could you do a TP run around Europe? If it was possible I’m not even sure I would know where to start in the planning or booking. However I’m sure I’m not the only one out there who would want to do to top up status.

If any one has any experience of TP runs with AF/KLM , it would be great to hear about it. Or even no experience but interesting thoughts and insights, please share!

Is it really going to be worth it though?

I can’t see the TP earnings being any more than current DL domestic flights so a max of 40 TP’s each way for a fully flex Biz/First fare for flights <3000miles (that drops to 20 TP’s each way for a discounted biz/First fare).

Cost wise, a return discounted Premium fare or Economy Delight fare earning 100TP’s is probably not going to cost much more.

Ah fair enough, when I saw the table I thought it might mean you could get 40tp per sector in biz. With a clever routing you may be able to get 160 tp for a day of flying (maybe for the same price as VS metal but all in a day)

The gravy train well and truly ended when the Delta First Class TP's got reduced from 75 per sector to 20/40.

AF/KLM will reflect that no doubt. Maybe there will be some options, but not likely for decent prices.

I agree with James that we are unlikely to find many ways to game the system. That being said, doing a few connections here and there can help the progress a little over the course of a whole year.

Air France earnings are here - short haul looks very poor with a max of just 10 TP's each leg!!

KLM slightly better, found here - 40 TP's each way for a short haul Z fare is actually better than DL :)

KLM 40 tp on a Z fair! Maybe in the sale this could work out very nicely. Might not be everyone’s cup of tea but I relish in the thought of spending the day on planes / in airport lounges! Just don’t tell green peace ;)

If wanting tier points, and not flying for fun, I would presume the most cost effective way to status is Tel Aviv? A shame you’d need to overnight it.

Intra-Europe biz class on KLM and AF are both pretty expensive - usually 5-10x the economy fare.
I don't see there being a cost-effective TP run in Europe.
I would LOVE to be proven wrong, but I am not hopeful..
