Hi Everyone,
I had reward flights booked for August past, which I moved to Easter 21. Thinking about moving further out to July - I know its early days, and nobody really knows how this will play out, but has there been any chat within the industry when:
the Virgin Lounges (and indeed terminal) may open again;
When tourist flights to the US will resume etc
Many thanks, Stevey

Regarding LHR T3 re-opening I am led to believe this is now looking at March 2021. I would assume the lounge would open at the same time providing this goes ahead in March but it is fluid as you can understand. I am pretty sure March will happen though as this is when the use it or lose it slot rule is back so I am sure space will be needed.
Good Luck.

Thanks @VS0069, appreciate the reply. Have moved it back to late June/July. Fingers crossed the trip will go ahead and the US will open up again (by then)!

I agree that the end of March (the 28th to be precise) is the earliest date T3 will be opened which is when the Summer flight season is due to start. I was due to fly AA in early March from T3 and had an email to say I would be departing / arriving at T5 now.
And 27th March is when the current slot waiver for Winter is due to end but the waiver could also be extended into the summer season but a decision won't be made until closer to March. Airlines will want to operate as many flights as they can but only if there is the custom for them. The current waiver only applies if an airline operates some flights from that airport and if they do they get to keep all of their slots. It's why BA have kept some slots at LGW as it means they get to keep all their slots there.
