They will probably use the same upper class seats as the 350s but it would be a 1-1-1 configuration due to space.

I think the 339s will be split up into 2 configurations: 8 business and 6 leisure. The business configuration will have upper class between doors 1 and 2 then 40-50 premium seats and then the rest economy. The leisure ones would have upper class and premium between doors 1 and 2 and then the rest economy. The leisure ones would be needed to cover routes such as MAN-LAX/ATL/BGI, GLA/BFS-MCO and LHR-MBJ/HAV while the leisure 350s would be doing LHR-MCO/BGI and MAN-MCO/JFK.

I’m not really sure where you’re getting your information from, but the seat isn’t popular at all and is very much “last generation”

The 339s (which are now realistically a long way off) are set to basically have a VS Version of the DeltaOne Suite as rolled out on their 339s which launched in 2019.

IMHO VS are getting themselves into a bit of a mess again with having so many different cabin seat types. Virtually all A/C types now have different generations of seats on them.

The only constant at the minute that I can think of is the Upper Class seat on the A333 & B789. Every A/C type now has a different Premium Economy seat installed as well.

Across their fleet of 4 types of A/C VS currently have 3 different Upper Class seats & 4 different Premium Economy seats. I've no idea about Economy seats?

Another massive thumbs down for that dreadful A332 Upper Class seat and cabin - I actively avoid the A332 A/C now because of this. The sooner they go the better.

Why?

Because the 332 seats are terrible and not a VS product. Simple as that really.

I hope you're wrong, but I fear that may be a more realistic option than fitting the 350 seat into the 789/333 in a 1-1-1 config, but both options are possible. I think given the work that went into the 350 seat design, they would reuse it.

On the money, as always there, James. Couldn't agree more.

While I enjoy knowing and commenting on the nuances between different aircraft in the fleet, for the mere traveller the inconsistencies are extremely annoying.

I think those commenting on leisure configs of 351 and 339's being half J/W between doors 1 and 2 are almost certainly on the money as well.

DIAZLUXO wrote:We could see the seats be fitted with the A350 seats in the same way that the Upper class in the A330-300 were first delivered. But more spaced apart?

That would be quite cramped considering that the 330s are quite a bit narrower that the 350s?

DIAZLUXO wrote:That’s a very fair point so if Virgin want fleet commonality then 1-1-1 on A330s, 787s and 1-2-1 on A350s is a good move

Exactly. Thats what I am hoping is going to happen.

Do we actually know this for a fact? These were all registrations and names I had heard suggested on the grape vine maybe a couple of years ago, but there was never any confirmation that they would actually be used. I did know that G-VFUN (Party Girl) was rumoured to be earmarked for an A340-600, but that aircraft was never built.

I thought the G-VEWR (Liberty Belle) registration was just a rumour from while ago and would never be used, certainly not now, as Virgin has ceased operations at Newark Liberty Intl.
G-VNEO (First Lady) could be a possible registration for the first A330-900 to enter the fleet, but no-one knows if this combination is being used either. I think it would be a great one to use! G-VHIP (Hippy Chick) and G-VLEG (Hot Legs) are possible options for future deliveries, but again, who knows?

Maybe G-VEWR would coincide with a restart of the Newark service?
