A350 PE seat

Having flown in the new A350 PE seat 6 times this year, I have come to the conclusion... it's rubbish!

The seat feels far too narrow on a night flight and the middle arm rest is so small you have to fight to place drinks down with your neighbour.

I felt it more on night flights- it was just too narrow for me, felt like a Economy seat, I am thinking maybe extra legroom or Delight seats are a better option, unless they have shrunk those as well?

I like PE whatever the type but you are right to say it is narrower, in fact a whole 3 inches compared to a 787 or A330-300. 18 inches on the A350 & A330 neo . So I always pick 787/330-300 over any others in premium. But on the reverse side you get a better t.v screen on the newer types.

Slightly off-topic as refers to Upper rather than PE but .....

Having just flown Business / Upper with Condor in February to Cuba and VS to Jamaica in March I am now finding the VS flip-over seats in Upper very uncomfortable in comparison (first world problem, I know). There was a time when the VS flip-over seats were a real innovation that meant you got a fully flat bed and everyone having aisle access whereas many others on KLM & the like (that slid and used the normal seat padding itself to sleep on) came several degrees short of fully flat and/or didn't all have aisle access - now they do go fully flat with aisle access on most other airlines in Business the slide style are so much more comfortable, imho.

Food-wise there is no comparison as VS seem to have gone from great to just ok - Condor was so much better than VS in both variety and quantity (the 4 starters on Condor were not an 'or', you got all 4!) - so, having not flown BA for 4+ years, I wonder if they too have caught up or overtaken what used to be a very nice food offering on VS.

3 inches narrower-wow! Surely brand new product offerings need to be as good, if not better, than an existing product. How can Virgin possibly think this is a good move. Do they really believe degrading their product is going to attract customers?

Absolutely agree. We flew LAX-LHR round trip in March. Coupled with the strange foot rest set-up it was really hard to get comfortable. I could at least get a few hours sleep on the 787s. These, not so much.

Those 3 inches mean they get an extra seat in per row.
On a day flight it was fine, but a red eye it was horrible, you have no chance of getting sleep.

Is this the same for the 339?

Was looking at into MCO and back from TPA which would mean PE on a 339 for the return..

Pretty sure it was a 350 we flew back on last time from MCO and I wholeheartedly agree. I so miss the bubble!

It is the same seat on the A330-900neo as the A350 in premium. 18.5 inches wide to be precise, so yes significantly less width than the A330-300 & the B787.
