Help with Re Booking a Flight

Hi all really need some help if possible. I have a reward booking in place to fly in January and VA have cancelled my return flight. The new return date is not suitable therefore I have called this morning and they have refused to rebook me on new flights as there is no reward availability is this correct.
This is the second time this has happened where my flights were cancelled and they changed without issue.
They have offered me a refund of flights and money but flat refusing to re-book on dates of my choice.

Is this correct considering they cancelled my flight and should I be able to pick new dates whether there is reward availability or not?

I now want to fly at a totally later date.

I have checked and there is ample room and general availability just no reward seats for my choice of new dates.

Thank you

We had a similar problem a few months ago. We had reward seats in upper class booked from Atlanta to Manchester at the beginning of December. They cancelled the flight but put us on a flight from New York (with no internal flight !). I rang Flying club and they initially said we couldn't change to Orlando which was where we were staying as there was no reward availability. I argued with them and quoted their cancellation policy as it was them that had cancelled our flight. It took a while and I had to push to speak to a supervisor who eventually agreed to move our flights to Orlando - Manchester. I think it depends who you speak to at Flying club.
I would check the cancellation policy applicable to your flights as it changes depending on when you booked the flights and ring them again

Can you provide details of the routing and confirm these are VS flights and not say DL flights with a VS codeshare number?

On the face of it a flight cancellation means the UK261 regulation kicks in for rebooking and you should be rebooked whether or not reward seats are available but the details matter.

Thank you so much.

It’s not codeshare VA operated so don’t see the issue only guess is the prices are so inflated for 2022 they was to make as much money back even if it means refunding existing passengers.

Thank you so much.

I was originally due to fly back from Atlanta just the same and they cancelled it and put me from New York without telling me. They changed me with no issues to a flight from MCO and let me rebook with no issues at a later date.

My current flights are upper from MAN to MCO from the same booking outbound 8 January and return 23 January. VA have cancelled all MCO flights on the 23rd and pushed us back to a later date but it does no longer fit around work.

I have requested to fly out 20 October and return 4 Nov. Lots of seat availability in VS75 going out and VS76 coming back but was put through to upper agent today who said no way could we transfer as there was no reward availability and we would have to have a refund and our miles back.

Just a bit of extra info my flight was originally booked January 2021 then when VA cancelled my flight in September and I moved it to January the same reference was kept so just an amended booking.
