VS have actually been boarding using groups for a while now.

The main change from April 14th (yesterday) is that a red Flying Club member flying economy can now board as group 5 ahead of groups 6-10 so if you are flying economy on VS, it's now worth joining Flying Club if you haven't already and add your FC account to the booking as it means you will now get slightly higher priority boarding compared to not being a Flying Club member.

None of the other boarding groups change.

Thanks for that addendum, James. I was sure we boarded by group last time we flew VS - thought I was having a senior moment reading the OP
