Have booked UC tickets for Dec from LHR to TPA and back which have switched recently from A330-900 to the A330-300. My wife wishes to change flight to MIA as its now the A339 but I then need to drive extra 2 hours to Sarasota.

Is there much differences between the two types of plane other than age and newer one has slidy doors?

Stick with TPA and avoid MIA. It’s an utter dump of an airport and driving to/from MIA is also a complete nightmare. The last thing you want after a long trans-Atlantic flight is an extra 2hr drive.

TPA is a much much nicer airport. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with the A330-300 older upper class cabin. You get the same crew and food as every other A/C type.

There’s no guarantee the A/C will stay the same between now and when you fly regardless of where you fly to.

Not to mention the stretch of the I-75 through the Everglades from the Miami area to the dog leg turn outside Naples is boring and not what you want to be contending with whilst running on fumes after a long flight.
