According to London Heathrow’s Initial Coordination Report Virgin Atlantic is expected to launch a new route to Tampa, Florida (TPA) this winter.

Flights are planned to operate on average 7x weekly (294 ATMs) using its 258-seat Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.

Although there is no official confirmation yet from VS it seems to point an imminent announcement could be made shortly so VS can start selling seats.

Mumbles & grumbles

I think there are better routes from LHR that they could seek to launch. But that's just my opinion.

I want them to restore MAN to LAX in 2023 as they promised.
With typically 9 direct flights a day from LHR, I cannot believe that a service from the North is not viable.
Approx. 40% of PAX via LHR (generally) are connecting.

Come on VS, please put it back in your schedules, ideally year round!
