Apparently opened this morning and was all very smooth and efficient. Sat in the Clubhouse, which is very quiet and the service is excellent. Looking forward to a trip to Barbados and looks as if we'll be joined by the England T20 World Cup cricket team!

Good news!
Are there still liquid restrictions? I’m lost where this is concerned.
Have a fab trip !

I would guess the Upper Class security lane has been "upgraded" to the new scanners - essentially mini CT scanners. If this is the case, you should be able to leave liquids / laptops etc in your bag. The liquid restriction will rise to 2 litres.
I can't think of any other reason why Heathrow would have closed the Upper Class security lane, other than installation of new scanners / associated floor strengthening works (the new scanners are way heavier than a normal x-ray machine).

Possibly adding an extra lane as well as the single lane often gets backed up at peak times?
When I asked VS why it was taking so long last month as the BA First Wing upgrade in T5 was only out of use for a few weeks, they where very cagey about it but did say it was more than than just ‘equipment upgrades’
