V-Flyer

Hi - Flying on June 4th to Vegas and trying to pre-order food from the email but it keeps erroring when I go to submit. Tried on phone and laptop.

Anyone else getting It to work?

On the same flight, worked for me!

Sometimes this happens, try later or just pick on the flight.

Link did not work. I will just wait for the flight itself. @waddo56 see you on the flight!!

When we travelled last February ours also errored. However at the meal service it had been noted despite the error message

We are on this flight too.

The page didn’t load for me first time, but did when I tried again.

I kept hitting the same error when saving my choice before my JFK-LHR flight last month, but it managed to get through!

You can also check if it's worked as a printed airport issued boarding pass will show the message special meal requested. Nothing shows on the app / mobile boarding passes though unfortunately.

So I tried to PM those on the flight but its not working for me.

Maybe there should be somewhere on V-Flyer where you can see if other v-flyer members are on your flight. Drinks in the lounge or at the bar and share Virgin stories, memories of the past etc.

I went to pre-order my meal for the inbound VS74 on Sunday earlier... interesting that there is far more choice inbound than outbound on the VS73. However, I digress. I selected the Lamb Koftas and hit the "Submit Order" or similar button. The system just timed out with a message along the lines of "This service is currently unavailable". Within a couple of minutes I had the fully branded email from VS in my inbox confirming the meal selection.

Virgin and IT have never been a great combination. Back in the days when they ran their own IT system it was very clunky, especially for online check-in. Now they are hosted on the Delta IT system things are generally a lot slicker. I wonder if meal pre-ordering is a custom "bolt-on" that VS have added, given that the vast majority of Delta flights will offer little / no food?

When you get a DL ticketed flight on VS metal, you can still pre-order food via the preselect.virginatlantic.com site as it recognises the PNR. You just don't get the email in advance giving you the option, you just have to know its possible.

I tried it for my flight today from MAN (operated by VS, ticketed by DL). So that tells me DL could use the system but chose not too.

Now with a flight in a few days I get the chance to try the link!

It seemed to work, although the confirmation page didn't nor did i receive a confrmation email.

Going back into to the options page via the link (flying from MAN so choices are limited anyway), the choices appear to have been saved however.

Let's see what happens!

Just did my preorder for next weeks flight from Edinburgh (yes, not Heathrow, long story but will keep it for the TR) and although there wasn’t a huge choice,



It seems to work perfectly. Got the nom nom screen and literally 1 second later the confirmation email.

Exactly the same options as I had for my MAN > ATL flight this week. Effectively the same as the onboard menu.
