V-Flyer

So I've finally managed to use my miles to travel to Seattle from Heathrow in November.

Hubbie can't get the time off work, so I'm going alone to see our friends.

Am I correct in thinking that if going as a solo traveller the a side of the plane is better to sit on? I believe the plane is a 787 dreamliner. I also know to avoid row 7, apart from this any other tips on rows to choose or avoid.

Anything but 7 on the A side pretty much sums it up for me.

Some say they dislike being too close to the galley and/or bar, so they avoid rows 1, 2, 10 and 11 if possible. However, it's never bothered me.

Don't forget to leave time to enjoy the clubhouse if it's your 1st visit. And I'd try and get dropped off in a car at the wing if possible too if you've never done that.

Please could I ask why you would avoid row 7? Does this also apply to the A330-300 with the same Upper cabin?

Row 7 on the B789's doesn't have a window. This is only on the B789's and isn't an issue on the A333's or any other A/C type in the VS fleet.

Thanks for the reply James, I didn’t know that, but then I’ve never flown on the 789 so guess I wouldn’t.

For anyone wondering why row 7 doesn't have a window...

Its because the 787 fuselage is fabricated in three parts. Nose, mid section and rear. The missing window at row 7 is the joint between the nose and mid section. Theres a missing window in economy for the same reason where the mid section joins the rear.

Lat time I flew with virgin I had row 7, I did not miss not having a window as you have to really strain to see out of it anyway and most of the time you have to shut it as there is only cloud or you cannot watch the tv screen, with the blind open. ( sorry no blind it was the controlled black out switch ) hubby was in 6 and I don't think he ever knew he had a window.
As long as you can get one of the A seats so you are not looking at anyones feet only the back of the seat you will be fine.
Have a great experience we still prefer the new suites with BA club, two windows and that privacy door a real bonus.

How funny, and here is me actively choosing seat A7 or if that’s not available A8.

For me, it’s perfect. The people in front go forward to use the toilets and the people behind go rear. Its also far away from the galley so noise has kept a minimum.
