My daughter has just booked to fly to Barbados in Economy Delight and it appears the cost of advanced seat selection is £75 per person each way.
Is it just me or is this extortionate??

I didn't know it was that much.

Whilst I don't disagree that it is a huge fee, it is a choice. If you don't like it - don't pay it. You are guaranteed a seat on the flight - if you want the one(s) of your choosing, then pay the supplement.

It is simple economics - if no one pay the charges for 'optional extras' (and I include premium seating in this) then they will rethink the pricing.

Whilst enough people pay the fees - they will only rethink the prices upwards.

It is the same with BA if I want our preferred seats half way down the front club cabin they are now £117 each, as we do not hold any seniority with BA we have to pay.

On every flight if we waited for the free 7 day selection we would be one end of the cabin from each other although with the suites its not a big deal, we do like to occasionally chat well I do hubby is the quiet one who likes to be left alone. :D
