Hello from the 1903 lounge at MAN

Off to Fort Lauderdale via ATL today on the VS109. It’s another murky morning, though not as bad as yesterday. Everything seems to be op’ing more or less normal so far.

Checked-in and through security no messing. The priority security line was quick and painless. Even managed to get my bag checked all the way to FLL even though I’m on separate bookings (VS is a G reward using an upgrade voucher, the DL flight is a revenue First Class I fare).

Now that I’ve added the bag number to my revenue booking in the DL app, I get full tracking even on the VS flight leg. Why oh why can’t VS offer this service is beyond me when the background tech is clearly in place and working (and has been for several years now)?

1903 lounge is pretty busy but still several empty seats.

Looks like it’s going to be a busy flight as the seat map showing just 2 empty seats currently (1 in J and 1 in Y)

Not lucky today in getting the 1 x A339 that’s currently op’ing at MAN. That’s op’ing the MCO flight today but did op the ATL flight yesterday.

Compliments of the season to you James!!

Whilst the aircraft may not be the VS has to offer, I sincerely hope the on board service is top notch.

Have a great flight

Hi James,

Hopefully you'll have a great flight and trip.

There seems to be "some" deals from MAN if you have the patience and flexibility to fly indirect but this new system combined with the shocking website and the unbelievable cash prices makes it so much harder to use VS nowadays. (I never thought I'd be contemplating looking elsewhere for my future travels :-O )

Wonder if they will be brave enough to admit their mistakes ;)

David

Safe travels James.

My Son flew out of Manchester this morning (to Bahrain, not on VA!) and no sign of the fog delays, hopefully everyone else has got off OK.

Had a great flight. 2 washrooms failed during the flight though leaving just 2 for Upper + Premium :-O

Had a go-around as we approached ATL due to the weather but second time landing was successful.

Glad all went well despite the onboard problems. How was the meal that you eventually chose?

VS are slowly putting more A339's on VS109 & VS73. Although it's complete pot luck when they operate. I would like to see VS base 2 A339's at MAN just to bring the standards more in line with LHR. A FSM said to me that seats and washrooms are often broken on the A330-300. I hope your trip to Florida was good I'm going back to Tampa in the spring.
