CC Voucher available for use before 9/25

I've just had to cancel a flight which means that I now have an unused CC Voucher = 150K in UC. Apparently, I've just been told by a super helpful VS agent that I can transfer this to another flyer who can make use of it before September this year. PM me, ideally with an offer, and we'll see what we cna do. Hope this is allowed. It seems to be within VS rules, not sure about the forum.

Kind of you to offer. I assume you mean 9/25, not 9/24!
Hard to keep track as the years fly by!

I'd be willing to take it, but feel someone else may urgently need. Lmk if not.

OP, you would just need to spend your voucher by September 2025, allowing travel until August 2026.

THis seems to cover a lot of bases. The google Ai says a voucher can be worth "A Virgin Atlantic credit card voucher can be worth between £750 and £1,500, depending on your Virgin Flying Club status. The value is based on the number of Virgin Points you can redeem, which depends on your status when you redeem the voucher. "

Helpful:
https://www.headforpoints.com/2024/10/1 ... d-voucher/

"The voucher is non-transferable and can only be used by the person who earned it unless you have Gold or Silver status in Virgin Flying Club. In this case, you can transfer it to another member via the call centre."

I am open to respectable offers,. I'm not being silly, but maybe we could both gain here. So frustrating to have to have cancelled these flights.

Buying or selling these vouchers is against Flying Club T&C’s which can be found here :

5.7.5 The voucher will be void if sold, auctioned or bartered. Such activity is prohibited and will be a breach of our FC Programme terms and conditions. This may result in the removal of vouchers, the suspension of tier benefits and/or membership termination. See section 9.

I expected it would be a transgression, but I was told, by a VS agent, that having Ag status meant I could transfer it to another FC member??

Ahh...Having read what I can find on-line , the operative word seems to be 'gift' to another FC member. Now I understand. Apologies

Also, re validity - I think I got the wrong message from VS, as this is what I read on line:

You can spend your reward for up to 24 months from the date it's issued. That means you have to have booked your flights and taken the outbound flight within those 24 months. You can take the return journey afterwards." So, my voucher 'issued 9/23, expires 9/25' voucher means - 'book and travel outwards before 9/25'. This is contrary to the advice above.

Anyway, if the admins want to take the whole thread down, that's absolutely fine by me. And apologies.

This is really making me question the value of a VS CC though. We will not travel to the basket case USA and I cannot see us doing so in the near future. We've wasted so many vouchers that they are not really much of a perk to us. Ah well.

Sorry, I think I’ve given you duff and unhelpful old information here. The vouchers expiry has evidently changed to two years which counteracts the way they use to operate.

That said, try and book something with it past your expiry and see if a phone agent accepts it. Sometimes their flaws can work in your favour.

If that doesn’t work, I’d at least chat to your friend/family network and see if anyone could make use of it. I’m sure they’d appreciate the gesture enough for a free meal out.
