Looking for some advice. I have around 80000 points and a companion/upgrade voucher. I am looking to book a holiday for early next year, but when pricing up booking flights and hotels separately it seems that there are much better deals to be had by booking packages.

I wondered if there was any way to utilise my points towards a Virgin Holidays package and, if so, how cost effective this is?

Yes, you can put your Virgin Points towards all VSHols packages/fly drives etc. It's the same rate as points+money VS fares; in that for every 3000 points you use, you get a discount of £16.50.

You can book online, just use the holidays tab on the VS homepage and when prompted, log into your FC account. You can then part-pay with points at the final payment stage. You will also earn Virgin Points (and tier points depending on your total spend) at the same time.

There's currently a promo where you will earn double tier points which has no special conditions so will apply to all new bookings.

There is also a bonus 200 tier points promo if you spend more than £4000. For that bonus though, you need to book before September 30th 2025.

Those points + tier points are in addition to the standard points and tier points you will earn if the booking includes VS flights.


Silver + Gold FC members also get a slightly better discount as well for most VS Hols bookings.

Don’t want to take off topic, but is the 3000 points for £16.50 a good deal?

Thanks for the reply. At first glance it feels like using the points for reward seats offers much better value for money so I might be better off savingy.points for another flight/flights further down the line.

Since the changes to companion/upgrade vouchers can these now also be converted to their points value and used towards holidays?

No sorry, you can’t use the credit card reward vouchers for holiday bookings.
