LHR Security mixed group of status

Hi Guys,

We are travelling through LHR in October and I usually just travel through Manchester so I'm less familiar with LHR.

We are a party of 8, 3 gold, 1 silver and 4 no status. We are flying out PE (UC on return though that does not help!).

Should I use UC check-in for our party and would we get fast track security?

We don't plan on using the club house as I understand that's gold plus one guest.

Thanks,

Jonathan

Hello there!

So because you are not travelling UC on the outbound from LHR it will be based on FC loyalty status.

Flying club gold members can check in and bring 1 guest travelling with Virgin or Delta.
So that means 6 out of 8 can use the UC check-in / Upper Class Wing.

You may try and see if they will allow the other two (I’m sure it wouldn’t be such a problem).

Same would also apply for the LHR Clubhouse Lounge, 1 gold members can bring 1 guest.
CH may be a bit stricter for the other 2 guests. But it’s worth a shot also.

Use upper class checkin for all, nobody will care IMO. I recently went through LHR with my family (2 adults, 2 kids) travelling in premium, I am the only gold (so essentially 3 guests) and we all used upper checkin and then up in the lift to the wing for security. The only caveat might be if you turn up at peak time (early morning), they might be strict on the wing security usage, but I'm sure you will still be able to use upper checkin.

Clubhouse is indeed 1 guest per gold, so you would get 6 of you in for free. You can pay for the other 2 guests, but entry depends on how busy the clubhouse is at the time. Again, travelling as a family of 4, I just paid £25 each for the kids to enter and guested my wife in (cheaper that way, fee for adults is higher (not sure how high)). If you're outside of peak hours, entry won't be a problem if you're willing to pay from my recent experience, it seemed completely normal and routine.
