Earned tier point + points inconsistencies
So my 4 recent flight have all posted to may FC account, however, there seem to be some inconsistencies which I've raised with Flying Club.
As Flying Club Gold, this was a single booking made via Air France with an 057 AF ticket number all on I fares was made up of the following flight legs:
LHR>LAX VS metal Upper Class (VS7, marketed/sold as the AF6756)
LAX>HNL DL metal Delta One (DL443 marketed/sold as the AF7922)
HNL>SEA DL metal First Class (DL440, marked/sold originally as the KL6837 but than it changed to the DL440 however my AF issued boarding pass does show a KL6837 flight number)
SEA>LHR VS metal Upper Class (VS106, marketed/sold as the KL4823)
Here's what FC have awarded me:
LHR>LAX = 26,179 points + 100 tier points
LAX>HNL = 12,254 points + 100 tier points
HNL>SEA = 12,854 points + 40 tier points
SEA>LHR = 15,338 points + 100 tier points
The 2 issues that stand out for me are the 40 tier points on the return HNL>SEA leg and the low points award on the final LHR>SEA leg?!?
VS have now updated their partner earned page which makes a bit more sense now. The 100 tier points earning is correct for both AF + KL I fares. It's only VS I fares that earn 200 tier points. I've no issues with that.
According to my calculations though (using the VS website earning table here using great circle mapper SEA>LHR is 4800 miles x 480% = 23,040 points.)
As a control, using same calculation for the LHR>LAX leg is 5456 miles x 480% = 26,188 which is almost the same amount VS awarded me. The other 2 DL legs also look pretty much correct as well.
Interestingly though the VS earn points calculator here also appears wrong for SEA>LHR as that also calculates 15,337 so the base calculation for Flying Club Gold member on a discounted Upper Class fare is incorrect.
I've raised this with Flying Club and they have sent the details to FC support. I will see what happens.
