FAA reducing airport capacity from Friday, International OK

"In a call with major U.S. carriers, the FAA said capacity reductions at the airports would start at 4%, rising to 5% Saturday and 6% Sunday, before hitting 10% next week, industry sources told Reuters. The FAA also plans to exempt international flights from the cuts." (Reuters, but obviously other news outlets too)

Obviously could seriously affect onward connections within the US but, at least for now, Transatlantic should be unaffected.

More details including which airports are affected by this can be found here. So fa it's mainly effecting regional though some mainline routes are also starting to get cut.

Not a VS destination anymore, but I gather there were lots of delays at EWR yesterday by as much as 2 hours.
