CPT or JNB

I need to fly to South Africa sometime early next year. Is there
anything to choose between the two routes (CPT/JNB)? I'm thinking
about things like lounges, IFE, new/old planes, airport experience
etc.

JNB is a better bet if you have a choice: a great Clubhouse (in my view the best on the VS network) and a much greater likelihood of UCS.

Hi cshore

Welcome to V-Flyer :)

CPT is a mix of 343/346 (mainly 343) and JNB is a mix of 744/343 (see 'Winter Schedules' thread at the top of the General Discussion forum for dates etc).

Re IFE, 744s have v:port/Odyssey, 346s have v:port and 343s have Odyssey/Arcadia. The general concensus is try to avoid the 343s as some of them are comparatively old.

If you're flying Upper Class, all the 346s/744s have UCS but none of the 343s. Hope that helps!

Cheers
Alan
