There are so many comments about the ottoman.

The funny thing is pax get on and try to wheel there bags down the small aisle and are constantly bashing the ottomans, forcing it down the aisle.

Caterers do not wheel carts through the cabin, so in fact passengers are to blame because they dont carry there big must have on board bags.

Just take a look on how many headsets are left hanging in the aisle and not stowed back in there cradle.

Then the next person gets in the seat and there handset is not working, cos its been kicked, and pulled so much.

Declan whilst I agree that we could be more carefull and wear and tear would be less. I dont think VS has pax any less carefull than other airlines.

Durability should be better with the UCS. I think most people agree that is an issue with the new suite.

Yes VS should have made them more durable when they were designed. The simple answer is to make improvements now and start to introduce them on the a/c when next in for tech reasons or when in for ucs refit. Surely VS would have thought about wear and tear when designing the suite.

On a side- how many crew carry their bags on board and dont use the wheels!?!

True, but I dont think any other airline has aisles as narrow as those found in UCS cabins.

Original plans was to cover them in a plastic (like laminating) but would make product look plastic.

How about some sort rubber "bumper trim" around the edges and sides of the ottoman? Don't cover the whole thing in rubber, but maybe two or three "stripes"?

What about a cattle grid at the entrance to UC? That should stop em rolling!

Better still put those large must-have-on-board bags in the hold where they should have been in the FIRST place.

If people took less cabin baggage onboard in the first place it would cause a lot less problems overall. Have you seen how much people try and stuff in the overhead lockers!

Bad design is not really the problem of the customer.

The problems of durability of the new UCS are well known to VAA as has been stated several times on this site and elsewhere.
