Had to have a wee giggle at this one- this is called 'making a post before knowing the facts!'
http://www.airliners.net/discussions/ge ... n/1832020/Cant wait to see the 346 in SYD- it marks the start of a new chapter in VS operations, has been so long in the coming! But I can understnad why BD is kicking up a fuss with regards to CX operating LHR-JFK that will be 3 non US and UK carriers operating the route and still BD cant get a look in at LHR!!! What do you all feel about this? And the next new rotue from LHR (minus DXB and BOM)- MElbourne anyone??
Do we know who a340driver is? SOunds to be VS flight deck- is he a member or does it not know about the greatness that is v-flyer???

a.net is usually an entertaining read..occasionaly a few of them come over here..
They seem to want to argue more than we do !! one of the great things about this forum is it's good nature and tollerance for others views

I agree Jonathan, the nicest thing about airliners.net is that it is from there I found out about v-flyer.
that "Concordeboy" is a particluar wind up merchant so it seems, with most threads turning into heated arguments [:(]
V-flyer is a lot more tolerant, and, basically, more grown up!

I agree completly- i have had past experience with concordeboy on a.net and he certainly is very arguementative. What is the point- Im here for a bit of casual chat about a hobby and to take others views on board- although I do find that a.net and myavaiation.net are super for pictures!

agree...a.net is mine of imformation or misinformation....it does get petty and juvenile at times but i also discovered V flyer there. The trip reports can be very good bvut i prefer flyertalk which is a lot more adult.

A "mine" indeed airnewzealand! A Freudian slip maybe? Things have been known to become quite explosive over there at times

I just do not understand why people get into these nasty debates on forums.
They will type something that they would never say in person. Or I suspect they would never say.
The Fear of Flying board we started was because the former board that we had been at got into an all-out war over politics! You may ask why are politics being discussed on a Fear of Flying board... Good question! That is why we started a new one!
I have very much enjoyed being here. I have learned a good bit of information. I know that I have asked some dumb questions, and appreciate everyone's patience!
Cheers,
Mark

Every one asks the odd dumb question Mark, I know I have!!;)
I'd say we're quite a mature forum but we have a laugh on here too!
That's the great thing about this place; you learn stuff and in doing so are able to help others.
We're lucky we have great Mods and forum members that keep this a healthy lively forum so I think anyone whos ever posted can take credit:)

Hi Guys,
Thanks for the compliment Jonathan, don't forget us Mods are also members and we also learn a lot from everyone else (and even ask the odd dumb question, Mark!). Another of the great things is that you can and do make all sorts of new friends through this site and I'm sure some of the friendships I have made will endure and go beyond just VAA related stuff.
...and don't forget the site is only as good as the members, and we have some of the best [^]

Good thoughts, Bazz. I feel like Mark -- appreciative of being in good company and thankful that my dumb questions have been swallowed whole by our genteel Forum Mods -- with only a bit of a hiccup.[:o)]
Best regards (say hi to Birkin).

Thanks Folks!
This IS a great group of folks. It does me well to read and chat with folks that fly everyday.
I had 21 flights in eight months since I started flying again, and 2005 looks to be a very busy flying year for me. Hmmm... maybe one of them can be to England in January??? Already kicking it around!
Thanks again for your patience!
Cheers,
Mark

Well if it's around the 29th, that'd be an excellent idea

:D
