12 hour notice for limo pick ups

Got my FC statement in the post yesterday. There was a section in it stating that in future, all limo bookings must be made 12 hours in advance.
While I accept the point that it makes ops easier, I would have been screwed on a trip last week, when the limo booking didn't follow a flight change. I checked with FC on the morning of departure and was told I was on the default pick up time for VS010 (2310 departure) when I was actually on VS046 (2100).
I usually confirm pick up times with VS, especially for return legs, but it seems we will have to remember to do so a day earlier in future, and lose out on a last minute change if we find ourselves somewhere else.
