PostPosted: 30 Nov 2004, 17:24

Received the latest BAA Worldpoints mag last week and the covering letter mentioned that 100 bonus Worldpoints would be posted into your account on December 1st.

Just checked my account today and the 100 bonus points have now been credited to my account taking my ballance to 541 - 500 of which already on their way to my FC account ;)

There's also another 50 points up for grabs if you log onto your account and update your email address before December 31st 2004.

There's also double points on all purchases upto December 31st 2004.

Regards

It does indeed mean I'm now in Swindon, been a homeowner for a grand total of 11 days, with my 2mb ADSL service getting turned on today :D Not so sure about the flatwarming though ;)

Just a word of warning on the points transfer.

Both Mrs buns & I experienced problems with the on-line transfer and had to resort to follow up phone calls to complete the transfer (which was then effected v.quickly i might add)

James

Thanks for the heads up on the promo

Oh yeah! Now on 374 points, but will be on 874 points as soon as sahajesh uses his card! ;) Not that I'm rushing you or anything mate...;)

I also logged in and slightly changed my email address (I have infinite addresses at my domain) so should get the 50 bonus points too in the new year [8D];).

Slightly OT? :D
2Mbps just got turned on today (well, late last night), speed tests show I'm getting just under 2Mbps, but there's a marked difference in speed from my old 512kbps line [8D] Gotta say, went with PlusNet for the signup - can thoroughly recommend them, all done within a week of getting a postcode issue sorted out :)

Not seen anything of LRoM just yet (given that we both work in Reading, I guess we're both a bit stacked out during the week!), but there's time yet :D

BTW, my road doesn't even have a signpost, let alone tarmac on it yet - LOL!

Cheers

You certainly do! The special offer in the summer was 500 points for a referral, but it's now the normal 250 i think. PM me your email and i'll refer you! :D

Welcome to PlusNet 2Mb ADSL :D

I've been with Plusnet since my ADSL was activated in Feb and they have been absolutley fantastic ever since - started on 1MB then upgraded to 2Mb when they launched their new prices/packages a few months ago. I too can highly recommend them - extremley reliable and always upgrading their ADSL platform to keep well above customer demand :)

James - Thanks :D Am very impressed with them so far - had a bit of a problem with my postcode & BT's database (stupid new developments, postcodes are such a PITA!), but after that was sorted, it was less than a week to activation :) They've been really quick to respond to any questions/tickets too - well chuffed!

Phil - Apology accepted :D:D:D:D

500 referral points have now posted to my BAA WorldPoints account. You may cry "heresy", but i've cashed in 500 for 750 destinations miles with bmi. Why? Because you can do crazily good redemptions for first class flights if you pay some cash as well as miles.

eg. First Class on UA to SFO - 50k miles plus £280
or even better First Class on SQ to SIN - 80k miles plus £540

Both plus taxes naturally. Award availability may be a bit tricky on the SIN route i'd expect.

Even if you cash bmi miles in for VS flights, the 750 miles is a better deal than 500 VS miles - bmi redemption levels aren't 1.5 times VS levels for VS flights. Anyway, I don't think I need 500 VS miles right now - gonna earn 32k in the next couple of weeks! :D;)

Daft question, but how does one check one's worldpoints total. I have one of these with a few hundered points. Is exchange for VS miles a good use ?

If you haven't done already, you should be able to register at the BAA site - once you're logged in, click "Check your points" and...abracadabra :)

It's the best (and only) use I've found so far! ;)

Regarding the refer-a-friend bonus:

You need to make sure you enter promotional code 403 in the appropriate box when referring your friend - the normal referral is 250 points, however this code gets you both 500 points.

Also, there's some catches in the Ts&Cs:
1. Only one referral per member is allowed (I think that's just for this promo)
2. The referral must be made by 30th October '05
3. The 500 points are added to both accounts when the new member uses their card for the first time before 31st December '05

The referral means that the person being referred will receive a Worldpoints card, so you need their postal address.

Cheers

Michael

There's also another offer on at the moment:

Spend over £25 at a BAA airport before 31st Nov 2005 and earn yourself an extra 250 points.

(I presume this means in 1 transaction - although it doesn't say)

I'm sure I can find something to buy at LGW on my way out to Vegas on Nov 6th :D I need another bottle of P20 sun screen so I'm nearly there with just that.
