This is my first post so please be gentle I'm due to fly PE to MCO Monday and have just been on the manage my flight and it shows a LHR plane instead of the LGW plane (which it showed last week) - our seat numbers have remained the same so it appears OK. Just a bit concerned though - the numbers of PE seats are a lot less than the LGW plane, do you think this would result in anyone being 'forced' to downgrade?

Whilst the UCS refits are happening a LHR aircraft is based at LGW as cover.
I see you have noticed that LGW aircraft have a higher PE capacity than LHR aircraft, however on the other hand, the LHR aircraft have a much higher UC capacity. This generally means instead of downgrades, upgrades are more likely.

I hope this makes sense!!

On an LHR aircraft, you are way more likely to get upgraded, especially on an A340, because there are only 28 PE seats and 40-50 J seats.

Does that mean, and excuse me for being silly, that travelling from MCO to LGW (2/1/05), which appears now to show an old LHR plane (non UCS), as shown on the Virgin seating plan website, that we are definately now NOT going to be on a UCS plane - on the way out 16/12 it still shows as UCS.

I would have preferred it to be the other way round to at least get a good nights kip home, than struggle on the 'old' seats.

As far as I am aware there are NO LHR planes without the UCS anymore

unless it's an A343 [?]

These are now the only LHR A/C that dont have UCS

VS27 on 6th Dec is currently planned on a LGW UCS a/c although for some reason known only to Commercial/Reservations the config is showing as a LHR 744 in the system.

same confusion here. VS showing a LGW UCS for our out LGW MCO 10th dec but a LGW UC on inbound 21st dec, this is in orriginal config but only A and K seats available.[8D] Only 6 days to go everything crossed for UCS bothways but still aware it could be any plane[^]

Spoke to a very nice lady on the Upper Class helpline re above problem. She was very surprised at this and advised me to check every couple of days, as it wouldn't surprise her if the planes were changed back to UCS - 'it's all been very hectic these past few weeks and anything can happen'! She also said if anythings changed it's usually old UC on way out with UCS on return flight, so I guess I could be doubly unlucky then.

I guess it's fingers crossed and watch this space!
