Hi I am travelling from BOS to LHR next week. I have noticed that Vigin has swithced from an A340-300 to a 747-400. Was this a planned switch or something that had just happened?

I thought I read that the 600s were to start April 01 to LHR. If it is a 47 which type are being used?

Thanks

The route seems to use all aircraft in the current fleet. I have always been on 744 in the last 2 years Richard said on a previous thread he was on A340-600.My next flight on this route early August is again on 744.

March 28th, the summer schedule started, seeeing lots of aircraft swaps.

JNB is now on a A340-300.

Also some 747 are going for UCS refits and in MAy the A340-600 starts.

The VS9/10 is now on A340-600 and the VS45/46 is a 747-400 non suite

I assume the 747 has more capacity - if so, it is about time.

Yep, I'm on VS045 next Tuesday, and the plan for when I selected my seats was the 747-400 non-suite

I flew BOS in Nov 2003 and both outbound and return planes were A340-300. Just before November I think they were doing an A340-600. I also noticed they were doing a 747 soon. Flight in Nov 2003 to Boston was very empty.
