Does this cause potential problems for Virgin Nigeria?

The Nigerian federal government has been called upon to withdraw the dual designation status of Virgin Atlantic Airways on the Lagos-London route. See link for full story :

If this happened what would the affect be? Increased operational costs and therefore higher ticket prices??
