I wonder if anyone has realised there will then be two "India Papa"s in the fleet: G-VLIP and G-VHIP?

Will it matter?

Oh yeah, you're right, I thought that wasn't allowed since the last two letters on british registrations are the ones shown. Hmmm. And yes I would like a rosette.

Now, now, children - calm down, it's not a competition... :D

In terms of the reg's, I'm not sure how it impacts VS internally, but all dealings with ATC will be on the flight number - not the registration, so there should be no confusion when the planes are operating.

The only real issue may be when someone tells the crew they're on "IP" today, and there are two of them lined up next to each other. It won't be exactly rocket science to work out which one is which though!

I guess because LIP is a 744 and HIP will be a 346 it won't be terribly confusing. And all I was trying to do was assist the administrators with tracking down double posts.

Also LIP operates out of LGW so they will probably never meet.

I would assume someone at VS does as the registration # normally means something - maybe we could have a few guesses here....

My guesses (just for fun)
HIP - Fashion Icon
WIN - Microsoft Queen
FIT - Healthy Lady
FIZ - Champagne Flyer

Not sure about the second - bearing in mind what my Windows keeps doing at the moment I'm not sure I'd like to call an aircraft after it. [:0]

No idea, but we should know in a matter of months. The registrations do give some hints as Phil pointed out.

And I think WIN will more likely be something involving winning.

great idea for a competition though, mine would be :

G-VHIP Hooray Henry
G-VWIN Vegas Lady
G-VFIT Butchers Dog
G-VFIZ Morning After

Obviously VWIN is my only "proper" guess!!

Lady Luck would be great - just a shame she wouldnt be on the Vegas route!!

Just a couple from me for now:
WIN - Agree with Paul, "Lady Luck" sounds good
FIT - Mad Lizzie? (now that's going back a few years!)
