Suites in Lon-Bom route?

hi. i want to know if they have introduced Upper Class Suites in LHR-Bom route? i travelled Bom-LHR in Aug, but it was just upper class cabin, no suites. want to know when would they introduce?
pls reply back.

Well LHR-BOM (Mumbai) is an Airbus 340-300 route. Airbus 340-300 routes only have the older Upper Class Seats except one Airbus 340-300 that has the Suites.
Soon the Airbus 340-300 fleet will have the Upper Class Suites as they are currently being converted.

I think there might be two 300's converted to UCS now. The latest one is GVFAR. Still, the principle is the same, you are less likely to get the UCS on a 300 route.

Jet Airways/9w is back to back to back with VS on the LHR-BOM sector, and daily too. Their Business Class is far far superior to anything that VS can throw up in Upper Class.

9W C class is a joke, I have flown it several times for work. I am strugglign to remember how many industry accolades it has won for its service and innovation.
VS J class on the other hand is a far superior offering. J2000 would quite easily blow 9W C offering away.
I don't need the handout from friends to fly - as for your comments about VS flights been largely crewed by ex (W staff, that is simply wrong. Yes there will be local crew utilised on the DEl and BOM routes, but there is a much larger proportion of UK based crew servicing the flight, I should know as I normally stay with them at the same hotels.
I'm sorry, but I really don't get what value you are trying to add by being here. You obviously don't like something that VS has done to you, and from what I recall it was simply that you didn't get a FT voucher when you were flying in W (when you were not entitled to one) but someone in Y did, do you know for sure that this person was not a FC Au? FC Au's get very well looked after on all routes, and in particular the India routes - I have been flyign in Y before becuase W and J were full (using 72 hour full Y ticket benefit), have been escorted to the front of the plane to do priority disembarkation and then personally met at the gate. Why? Loyalty - I am recognised frequent flyer that has demonstrated loyalty over the last 7 years of flying with VS. You look after all customers but in particular your most frequent and loyal customers. From what I recall you are a Red member, along with the other 750,000+ that are at that level, red means you have filled in the form and are starting to collect miles - it does not seriously indicate you as a frequent flyer, it may indiacte you as a loyal flyer though - the Oracle Db that VS uses has the ability to track this.

9W 'c' class in India is actually not bad for an internal flight at all. As for 9W 'c' between LHR and BOM it beats J2000 easily, but not UCS on a 346 or AVOD 744. The 9W LHR - BOM is served by SAA sourced planes (with exception of 1 plane which is a new and leased by 9W). The seats are better than J2000 on these planes and also have AVOD. So in summary internal 9W is nothing to write home about but international to UK is very good.
In no way am I trying to support malikifx - just an honest view of 9W to BOM from a very loyal VS person (as you well know).

Cool thanks for this Lloyd - see this is what we call healthy debate and discussion.
To add context, I have only ever done international to India on VS, the internal flights were with 9W (and jesus were they pricey - I know a colleague who is going this weekend who's flight from DEL-BLR is almost as much as the LHR-DEL sector and both are in Economy!).

My last 9W from LHR to BLR (via BOM) all in 'c' was GBP 2200 rtn, fully flex' ticket. Hard to beat that one and also how I know first hand re international 9W service / planes.
Virgin have to up the equipment level on flights into India in the medium term but I understand a 346 is going to start on the BOM route shortly - not sure how though as I thought special arrangements were made at BOM when the first flight with SRB went on the 346.

Interesting comments...
Have flown BOM - PNQ with Jet in C - yup pricey, no real benefit for a 20 min flight (somehow dragged out to 30 mins) but good experience. Interestingly leaving PNQ on August 14th out to BOM take off was delayed by 30 mins - as we were just about to start taxi-ing - due to the local air force (who use the same airport) commneced an acrobatic display (captains words, not mine!)

And how could I forget..
Setting up a non voice off shore operation which means I'm out there every other month. BA (Club) is 1st choice until VS produce their UCS. However I'm sending staff out on Jet, fully flexible on C for £1900....
