Not wanting to tempt fate (fully aware that BA are due to announce their "New, New Club World" very shortly), but I've just spotted a new addition to the Business Class seating line-up...

Looks very very nice. However, one thign I will comment on is that the seat mode looks quite restrictive, and there doesnt look too much seta pitch should you use the seat, however, it certainly wilkl give UCS a good run for its money!

I saw this a while ago and thought it was a mock-up for the A380. Doesn't look like the design is finished. And you can't exactly call it a window seat could you?

Surely this will take up too much space? The whole thing looks huge, bigger than the UCS. Maybe 'better' but if they fit less in it's gonna cost more.

I agree woth Honey Lamb about how much space 1 of those units would take up. I would think you'd only get 2 across even on a wide-body A/C. I dont think it would go in the nose section either (which BA have this very same problem with their NCW seats). There also looks a lot of wasted space underneath the bed.

Purely a concept isn't it ... yes the seat is cramped with little leg room and then the seat back in front looming, no companion dining, probably limited recline of the seat, and the banquette bit is a pure waste of space. As you can tell I'm not impressed. Wonder whether BA could justify the obviously fewer club seats they'd have space for with this?

not overly impressed however if introduced virgin will have stiff competition

Looks quite funky, but can't see many fitting in the plane.
And yeah, the seat section does look quite restrictive. I love the comfort of the UCS but one way where SQ wins out is there is more flexability with how you can slouch if you don't want to sleep. Saying that if I do VS is better.

I say just put private four posters on a plane...

There are times being a family friendly site sucks..oh the lines that are running through my sick little mind right now..

Could see it working as an "F" product but not "J" it is just too big. I also agree that the recline looks limited, the seat frame being fixed and there appears too little pitch in comparison with some "F" products. It looks like the table folds out of the armrest so definitely no two-up dining option.

Initial observation, I think the UC Suite is still ahead of the game.

My guess is that the recline will be fine - they'll do it as a J2000-style recline, going into the seat well in front?

(In which case, potentially providing more comfort in the seated configuration than UCS?)

I imagine it will work similarly to the J2000. My observation, perhaps incorrect, was judging by the gap between the front of the seat and the back of the seat frame in front there didn't appear to be a great deal of space. Difficult to tell from just one pic without any dimensions.

Time will tell

It was shown in last Sunday's Sunday Times Travel supplement where a few speculative potential buyers were touted. If memory serves me right (which it rarely does) Virgin were named. Quite erroneously one would imagine. I'll dig it out if it hasn't been sent to the great recycling box in the sky.
