Last I saw, selected flights in and out of Washington were running the UCS. Does anyone know if this is a full time thing now? I've noticed the rates are currently reflecting what they would for the UCS. It used to be a bit lower as it was non UCS out of IAD. Info would be welcome. Would love to avoid having to "shlep" through JFK.

Well on my flights at the end October/beginning November currently the plane is a Suite 343 outbound and an ordinary one inbound

IAD has always been (and still is) a bit hit and miss for UCS. I was lucky in March as I got an A346 both ways so UCS . As more A343's get suited up then the chances of UCS on the IAD route will increase.

I've never actually noticed a difference in fares though between UCS and non-UCS VS flights. Pretty sure dont VS base their fares on the A/C config more likely to be based on seasons and PAX loads as the fares are set well in advance of A/C routes.

The Suite for lowest-UC always ran (at least last half of 2004 and first part of 2005) around 3300 US but if you priced the lowest UC out of non-UCS routes, lets say Newark or Dulles it would always run around 3100 US. Not a big difference but over Christmas and this spring when we flew it was that way.
It just seems that up-fits always happen in "off-seasons" and was wondering if a push was going to occur to finish out all of the cabins. Never know who is in the know here on-line.

As far as I can tell (someone please correct me if I'm wrong here) the re-fitting of the A343's seems to be on hold at the moment. The 2nd A343 (G-VFAR) with UCS came back into service Sept 1st but so far the next A343 still hasn't gone to DUB for it's re-fit yet.

How do they get a UCS to fly home in if a J2000 flew in?

Probably by using different planes on different days, Paul .

Unless Honey Lamb is flying back the very same day, on the same aircraft, there's a very high probability that it'll be a different one she returns on...
